The DiamondBack Hook 27.5 is a beautiful laid-back hardtail, which means it’s totally slacker with modern trail bike geometry. And that means it’s built for a more aggressive riding style, for riders who love berms, drops and jumps. The Hook is all about providing you the confidence and maneuverability you need to turn up the fun on your favorite technical trail.
You’ll take your riding to the next level from the vantage point of a 6061-T6 Hydroformed and butted alloy frame that features a slack head tube and short chainstays, which help you maintain stability on descents and negotiate tight, twisting sections. Frame material and geometry blend to create a reassuring balance of stability and, when you want to go for it, more aggressive acceleration. A Suntour XCM front fork, with 30mm stanchions, preload adjust and 120mm of travel, further refines the Hook 27.5’s handling for technical trail riding.
Up front, alloy crankarms with a 32-T alloy single ring transfer your power to the SRAM X3, 11-32T 8-speed cogset. Brakes are Tektro Aries mechanical discs with 160mm rotors, front and rear, controlled by alloy linear-pull brake levers that help you finesse your stopping power.
The Hook 27.5-inch wheelset rolls over obstacles with the maneuverability and nimbleness that creates confidence over all kinds of terrain. The bike comes dropper-post ready and is spec’d with a DiamondBack “Shortie” stem, DiamondBack 785mm wide “Pro Bar” and aggressive tires for the kind of riding that kicks up the excitement on the thrill scale.
